DeCharge Network Momentum Continues
The DePIN sector continues to be seeing strong demand as DeCharge Network saw month-over-month growth in October for its number of charging locations, repeat customers and total charging minutes.
The network is also expanding its operational framework beyond India and into Singapore. It established a Singapore entity to have a “smarter operational framework,” the team told Token Relations.
Their Indian operational entity, which has existed since inception, manages a significant portion of company-owned devices, in addition to partnering with prominent charging infrastructure companies across the country.
In general, the Indian market has been rapidly shifting towards an open network economy. Startups like Google-backed Namma Yatri are leading this transition by expanding to a no-commission, open network model, and considering the addition of a token-based governance framework for its platform.
Growing the Charging Network
DeCharge intends to significantly expand its network by adding more charge point operators, in addition to its own company-owned devices.
The company is also in talks with more EV fleet partners and ride-sharing companies like Namma Yatri to integrate their servicing technology and provide additional support.
As the network nears the one million charging minutes milestone, it plans to expand user attention and traction across the DevCon event through marquee events, content coverage and demo days.
Highlighting its DePIN Ecosystem
UEI Alliance - Scaling beyond hardware
DeCharge Network has joined the UEI (Unified Energy Interface) Alliance, a collaborative initiative focused on driving interoperability and standardization in the EV charging ecosystem.
As a member and a key contributor, DeCharge is working with industry leaders to shape charging standards, integrate its network with others for seamless roaming, and leverage data-sharing to improve its services. The team shared that this alignment with the UEI Alliance's objectives will strengthen its position as it expands its charging network and accelerates EV infra adoption.
Collectible Campaign Launch on Drip
To celebrate DeCharge's inaugural DePIN sale, the company launched a featured collectible campaign on Drip, a social network for digital collectibles. This campaign introduced a fresh lore of characters that embody the ethos of decentralized energy, which fits its mission to expand accessible and sustainable EV charging infrastructure.
Genesis Season: The Great Indian Maze
DeCharge is pioneering a first-of-its-kind, user-owned deployment in Bangalore, the tech hub of India. This inaugural Season, dubbed the "Great Indian Maze," will give the initial holders whitelist access to upcoming seasons.
For more details check out the team’s blog post.
Expansion to Global Hubs
For the upcoming seasons, DeCharge will strategically deploy in international markets that align with its product-market fit. By leveraging this user-centric model, the network aims to expand its accessible and sustainable EV charging infrastructure to major global hubs beyond its initial focus in India.
Winning Accolades and Gaining Traction
Earlier this month, DeCharge pitched and won the first prize slot at the Founders Villa SuperteamUAE event. The company was also shortlisted for the Singapore Ignition event, where top teams from the APAC region compete for seed stage funding from major VCs in the ecosystem.
